How to Make The Writing Process Easier

Do you sometimes suffer on your writing task? Don't know how to start your writing? And spend a whole day just for thinking about how you should start your writing? Well, honestly, writing is not an easy thing. Sometimes I also spend hours of time thinking about the first word I should write to start writing.

Here I have several tips for you to make your writing process a little bit more easier. These tips are based on how I usually do my writing, and it probably works on you too. 

1. Find a topic

Topic is the most important thing if you want to write something. Topic is like a foundation of your writing. It can help you to develop some sentences and of course, you'll know what you must write, and what you should discuss in your writing.

2. Make a draft

After you know the topic that you are going to talk about, you can start with making a short draft, contains some important points you're going to discuss. Making a draft helps your writing to be more directed and organize, so that your writing will not out of the topic.

3. Write anything that comes on your mind

When you want to write something, especially in English, just write down anything that comes on your mind. You can ignore the grammar or choices of good words you want to use. Try not to edit while you are making your first writing. Because the idea that comes on your mind can sometime disappear when you try to fix or edit some sentences which you think are not good enough.

4. Keep your sentences coherence and don't repeat the same words

Even if you write whatever that comes on your mind, make sure your sentences and paragraph are also coherence to each other. Avoid to keep writing the same thing over and over again. It's better to use another words than keep repeating something because it would sound boring for readers.

5. Review

Finally, if your writing is already done, you must review it. In this section, you have to re-read your writing and check the grammar whether it's already correct or not. You also have to check if there are still typos. By re-reading your writing, you can find any awkward sentences and unnecessary words. Try to fix the awkward sentences, and cut the unnecessary words. You might continue to fix other words and replace them with another words again, but that doesn't matter for your better writing result.

6. Be a good reader

If you want to be a good writer, first you have to be a good reader. By reading books, your brain will get used to words, your vocabulary will improve, you will know the procedures for good writing, and know how to arrange the correct words. Those knowledge that you get from reading books are very important to improve your writing skill. You will not find that writing is a hard activity anymore.

7. Practice everyday

We have already known that practice makes perfect. Try to challenge yourself to write anything everyday. Just write a short paragraph about your daily life on that day, then you can continue to write a story, and even an essay. If you want to improve your writing skill, practice everyday is a must, so that you will get used to writing, and produce a good work.
